Pear Blossom Run

Pear Blossom Run

The Pear Blossom Runs presented by Asante is the YMCA’s largest fundraising event, bringing together runners and walkers from all over Oregon and beyond to enjoy either the 10-Mile or 5K race while raising funds to the support the work of the Rogue Valley Family YMCA.

Join us each year on the second Saturday in April for this annual event as we take over downtown and bring our running (or walking) to the streets. All the races are concluded by 11:00am for the start of the Pear Blossom Parade. This is truly a Saturday in Downtown Medford that you don’t want to miss.

Volunteer - Race Course

Rogue Valley
4/11/26 - 4/11/26
VIEW

Thank you in advance for your willingness to be a Race Course Volunteer for the Pear Blossom Runs. It takes a huge team of volunteers to pull off these races and the approximately 4,500 runners that participate each year are thankful for your dedication. The YMCA is also very thankful you have decided to help the YMCA with this event as this is our largest fundraiser of the year. All funds raised are used to provide scholarships to youth, adults, and families that cannot afford the YMCA on their own.

Race Course Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Children can join their adult as a volunteer but must be accompanied by their adult at all times, youth cannot be solo on the course.

The YMCA will provide each Race Course Volunteer with the following on Race Day:

  • A Job Description (emailed after registration)
  • Detailed instructions at the City Hall steps at 6:15am on Race Day
  • Map of intersection and cone layout if applicable
  • Water and Snacks – picked up at the morning meeting
  • Volunteer Shirt (to keep)
  • Reflective Safety Vest – please return at the end of the race
  • Cones & Barriers will be at all intersections before the race

The Race Course Volunteer will:

  • Attend the morning briefing meeting at City Hall steps at 6:15am
  • Be prepared regardless of the weather to be at an intersection from 6:45am to 11:00am, some intersections will finish sooner than this.
  • Have transportation to assigned intersection, if you are unable to drive please let Course Director know as soon as possible.
  • Clear all cones and intersections to curb before leaving intersection.
  • Return all equipment to the YMCA (cones & barricades stay at intersections when you are done)
